Bush's advice after 9/11:
"I encourage you all, to
go shopping more."

Our Response:
We Are NOT Buying It!

The Top Charges
Against The Bush-Cheney Administration:

1. Boldly lying to Congress
to start the war in Iraq

2. Use of "signing statements" to expand executive power

3. Authorizing the use of torture in violation of the Geneva Convention.

4. Authorizing the intelligence
community to spy on
American citizens
without due process.

5. Failure to respond to warnings from the intelligence community about the 9/11 attacks.

6. Failure to respond to
warnings regarding imminent
levee failure in New Orleans,
and grossly mishandling
emergency response to
Hurricane Katrina; costing the
lives and property of thousands.

Of course there are many other reasons to be alarmed by the behavior of this administration: Refusing to entertain even the objective results of hard science in regards to any policy they propose, appointing ideologues in every agency in the government to stop any work that may be protecting the people from corporate predators, engaging in generally ruthless and underhanded tactics to maintain their hold on power including the use of outright propoganda and disinformation. But perhaps the clearest clue of all as to the goals of this administration lie in the direction their policies have atken our nation, and the world, over the last 7 years. Golbal war, the subversion of the Constitution and the barrage of "reforms" that have the effect of leaving us all at the mercy of those who will only use their wealth to turn the world into a poisonous and desolate wasteland.

National Boycott To Impeach
for Peace and Justice

Tax Day (April 15) 'til Earth Day (April 22)

January 1, 2007 - A national coaltion of citizens, including war veterans, distinguished academics, students, journalists, artists, and elected officials have joined with us to call for a nationwide boycott of all consumer activity, for one week in April..

The organizers of the boycott have recognized the fact, that our elected representatives have been unwilling to move forward on the public's overwhelming demands for impeachment and an end to the war in Iraq.

This boycott is a way of unifying the opposition to the Bush Administration; and according to Dr. Peter Phillips, who was the first to propose the idea in December,
"could well be the straw that broke the camel's back".

The boycott has been called in response to the statement by the new Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi, that the issue of impeachment was "off the table".

Impeach The President Now

This book is a brilliant compilation of twenty-two of the best political analysts of our time.  It presents not only the most comprehensive and in-depth analysis of the crimes of the Bush and Cheney regime.

It is the only one of the impeachment books to explain WHY the Bush White House has been doing these terrible things, WHY they've been allowed to get away with it, and WHY a grassroots, popular movement is an absolute necessity. INDISPENSABLE book to read

2. Shop at small, local stores. You may pay a little more, but in the end it will cost us all a lot less. Independent and small business guides.

3. Get out of the Big Banks. Moving your money to a small credit union or local bank may be the most powerful thing you can do with your money.

4. Minimize your use of oil and gas. Exxon is literally making a killing and, believe it or not, there are small oil companies you can buy from or you can just,
Carpool
: bus, bike or walk.

Remember, keeping your money close to home benefits the people you know. Sending it to a transnational corporation can cost jobs, freedom and lives

Why A Boycott?

Well, you can read the FAQ page for more information but the bottom line of it all is this: There exists a group of individuals and families within society who have abused their power, wealth and position for their own benefit, at the cost of quite possibly the survival of our species.

Represented now by the Bush administration this class of people are driving not only towards the destruction of millions of human lives in their quest for more and more wealth and power, but toward the very destruction of America and all that it stands for.

No amount of twisted logic can obscure the fact that warmongers and profiteers are bleeding the nation dry and laying waste to much of the globe. At this juncture in history if you are not a major shareholder in the largest corporations then you are about to be nobody.

The economy is collapsing under the weight of debt beyond imagining, every single safeguard that we have had to protect the common people from the abuses of the rich and powerful have been systematically destroyed.

War threatens to engulf the entire world and still they profit. Our general, across the board boycott is aimed at taking the money away from those people. By hitting them where it hurts the most, their pocketbooks, maybe they will reconsider this ultimately self-destructive set of policies....before it is too late

A Word From The Coordinator

National Director Lew Brown

National Coordinator,
Lew Brown, further explained the
need for the effort: "By holding back
on our spending with discipline and
resolve and in
sympathy for the millions who live in
misery because of this administration's policies, we not only show our
concern for the pain of others,
we also put a little fear in the
hearts of those who have
profited from this travesty.
